Penelope C PaineThe Paper Posie Publishing Company is a publishing and manufacturing company that focuses on products for children at weddings. Originally founded by author and designer Penelope (Penny) C. Paine in 1999, the many imaginative products Paper Posie offers were created to reflect the cultural diversity of today's weddings. The Paper Posie line continues to set the standard for books and products for children at weddings and supports the idea that building traditions for children is best achieved with happy events and meaningful memories.

Penny has a fine arts degree from the University of London as well as years of experience as a trainer and consultant on girl's issues, nontraditional occupations for women, and comprehensive career guidance for teenagers. In creating the many imaginative products for Paper Posie, she has combined her great eye for style and background in education to provide quality designs that reflect the cultural diversity of today's weddings.

Penny is the author and creative force behind six award-winning children's concept picture books. In addition she has provided art direction, content editing and production support for over twenty other books including Beverly Clark's Weddings: A Celebration, Planning A Wedding to Remember and Bridal Showers.

Penny is a speaker and national educational trainer addressing career and life planning for high school students, opportunities for girls, and nontraditional occupations for women.

Multi-continental, Penny works in both her native London and the U.S.

About the Illustrator, Itoko Maeno

Itoko MaenoSince arriving in the United States in 1982, Itoko Maeno has illustrated more than twenty six children's picture books with her enchanting, softly classic watercolor characters. Four of her titles have won national awards.

A self-professed lover of detail, Itoko enjoys the creative process of each project. "I love the way the images evolve," she explains. "As I do my research for each assignment, carefully sketching the characters and surrounding environment, I often become part of that character. Sometimes they surprise me."

With a zest for the whimsical and an intense attention to detail, Itoko brings a unique sense of fun to the Paper Posie product line.

Though Itoko lives in Santa Barbara, California, her artwork has been exhibited nationwide. She enjoys teaching for the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, reading and growing flowers. She is a graduate of Tokyo's Tama Art University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design.
